Andriani Opens First Canadian Food Production Plant

Italian plant-based food producer Andriani has opened its first Canadian manufacturing plant in London, Ont.

Andriani invested $55 million in the facility, which is also the company’s first location in North America. The company is formally known as Andriani S.p.A. Benefit Corporation.

The facility is designed to strengthen the Andriani’s international growth trajectory and establish it as a key point of reference for the North American industry and retailers. The 61,225 square-foot Canadian plant will also enable Andriani to engage directly with consumers through local production of Felicia-branded pasta, made from naturally gluten-free raw materials and high-quality, innovative ingredients, said the company.

“The opening of our first production facility in North America is not just a business milestone, but a crucial step in our journey as a benefit corporation,” said Michele Andriani, the company’s president and CEO. “Here in London, Ontario, we found the ideal environment to root our values and advance our global vision. This facility is the result of shared trust and collective passion, made possible by all those who believed in our project.

“At the heart of this achievement are institutions, partners, clients, and collaborators, to whom I extend my deepest gratitude,” he added. “This moment marks the beginning of a new chapter in our story, one that celebrates the international ambition of the Italian supply chain as a driving force in the food transition, the transformative power of food innovation, and the cultural bridges we continue to build. This new facility allows us to bring our mission to life in North America, generating positive impact through responsible innovation that promotes health, sustainability, and well-being.”

Carlo Stocco, the company’s general manager for North America, said London offered the right conditions for the next stage of international expansion, including a strong talent pool with specialized skills, a vibrant ecosystem dedicated to agri-food innovation, and a clear focus on sustainability and competitiveness.

Andriani said its international growth is supported by the entry of NUO, an Italian investment company that, since 2022, has strengthened the group’s industrial base and strategic vision, accelerating its global expansion.
