Arc’teryx Eyes More Than 100 New North American Stores

Vancouver-based Arc’teryx sees room to nearly triple its North American store network over time, potentially adding more than 100 locations as the outdoor brand expands its physical retail footprint.

Amer Sports CFO Andrew Page outlined the long-term opportunity during the company’s second-quarter earnings call.

“We now have 75 stores in North America, which we believe could be 200 doors over time,” Page said.

No timetable was given, making the figure a long-term estimate rather than a formal store-opening target.

The potential expansion could create a substantial pipeline of new retail leases. Amer Sports has said Arc’teryx operates three store formats generally ranging from about 1,000 to 10,000 square feet, with its retail locations typically leased.

Arc’teryx stores averaged approximately US$1,800 in sales per square foot globally in 2025, according to Amer Sports. New stores generally target a payback period of 24 months, with the company saying performance has typically exceeded that benchmark.

The growth outlook comes as Arc’teryx continues to post strong sales. Amer Sports said its Technical Apparel segment, led by Arc’teryx, generated US$674 million in second-quarter revenue, up 32% from a year earlier. Comparable sales across stores and e-commerce rose 17%.

Arc’teryx has also been adding larger, higher-profile locations in key Canadian markets, including a 9,274-square-foot Alpha store at 50 Bloor St. W. in Toronto and a 6,430-square-foot flagship at 1001 Robson St. in Vancouver.
