Belleville to Get New 167K-SF Costco Outlet

By Monte Stewart

Costco will develop a new 167,000-square-foot outlet in Belleville, Ont., the city’s mayor has confirmed.

Belleville will get the new Costco warehouse and adjacent 8,000-sf gas bar under an approximately $37-million investment, with construction expected to begin in spring 2027 and the store slated to open in fall 2027, Mayor Neil Ellis said at the conclusion of a recent council meeting.

The global retailer plans to build the new-format warehouse on vacant land on Bell Boulevard, west of Shorelines Casino Belleville, Ellis added. The gas bar will contain 12 double-sided pumps capable of serving 24 vehicles simultaneously.

“We’ve been working closely with the Costco team to support a successful integration into our community and help ensure it becomes a valued part of our Belleville’s growing business landscape,” said Ellis. “As additional details related to job creation, economic impacts, and employment opportunities become available, they will be shared with the public.

“We look forward to seeing the positive benefits this investment will bring to our residents, businesses, and the broader community.

The mayor said the retailer has a draft site-plan agreement in place ahead of final municipal building permit approval.

Ellis said the city has been working with Costco on the project for about 18 months.

Costco has not spoken publicly about its plans for the new Belleville location.
