Caisse Phasing Out Ivanhoé Cambridge and Otéra Capital Brands
The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is dropping the Ivanhoé Cambridge and Otéra Capital brands.
The pension-fund manager also announced that it is now operating under the name La Caisse. The move stems from the Caisse’s restructuring effort designed to save $100 million.
Ivanhoé Cambridge and Otéra Capital previously operated as separate companies. But they are being integrated into the parent organization as part of the restructuring effort launched in 2024.
Ivanhoé Cambridge and Otéra Capital have served as the organization’s real estate arm, with the former overseeing property development and management and the latter arranging finance deals.
“With this change, the real estate portfolio will benefit from a distinctive identity, which is based on the organization’s heritage, unique mission and leading investments in Quebec and internationally,” the Caisse said in a news release.
The Caisse manages $42 billion in net real estate assets within the overall pension fund.
Rana Ghorayeb, the former head of Otéra, serves as the Caisse’s head of real estate. Nathalie Palladitcheff resigned as CEO of Ivanhoé CEO Nathalie Palladitcheff after the Caisse announced the restructuring effort and left the organization in 2024.
