Congebec Grows Cold Storage Footprint Through Merger with Bradner

Congebec, a leading Canadian provider of multi-temperature logistics services, has announced a major expansion through a merger with B.C.-based Bradner Cold Storage.

The move creates a robust national cold storage network spanning 16 locations across six provinces: Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and B.C.

Founded more than 50 years ago, Quebec City-based Congebec operates 11 facilities across Canada, offering value-added distribution services for the food, retail, and packaged goods sectors. Bradner, established in 2011, brings specialized expertise in frozen, refrigerated, and dry storage through its facilities in Langley, B.C., Abbotsford, B.C., and Chilliwack, B.C..

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide unparalleled cold storage solutions across Canada and internationally,” said Nicholas-P. Pedneault, CEO of Congebec.

The merger bolsters Congebec’s logistics capabilities and expands its market reach, especially in B.C. and along the Trans-Pacific trade routes through Vancouver. This growth comes at a time when food manufacturers are increasingly focused on meeting rising consumer demand for Canadian products, both domestically and abroad. Congebec already exports to about 50 countries and leverages international trade agreements like the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) to broaden access to global markets.

“We’re proud of what we’ve built at Bradner, which created the foundation to join forces with Congebec and expand our reach across North America,” said Tim Ludwig, CEO of Bradner and now part of Congebec’s ownership group. “Together, we will set new standards in the cold storage industry and drive innovation in logistics and transportation.”

As the combined company looks ahead, it remains focused on expanding its presence and influence across North America.
