Doka Canada Takes 167K-SF Annacis Island Facility

Doka Canada has signed a 10-year lease for a major industrial property on Annacis Island in Delta, B.C., doubling the construction supplier’s Metro Vancouver footprint.

The company will occupy Grosvenor’s property at 830 Carlisle Rd., a roughly 15.3-acre site containing approximately 167,000 square feet of warehouse and office space. The property was previously occupied by Russel Metals.

Doka supplies formwork and scaffolding systems for the construction industry. The company said the Annacis Island location will support its continued expansion in Western Canada and provide additional capacity for regional logistics and operations.

The transaction adds another significant tenant to Grosvenor’s Annacis Island industrial portfolio. In June, the landlord signed S&S Activewear to a lease for the entire 162,650-square-foot Millennium 6 building at 1005 Derwent Way.

Grosvenor is a privately owned international property company with investment and development operations across North America and other global markets.

It has a long history on Annacis Island, acquiring land there in 1952 as its first major international investment. The company now owns and manages approximately 185 acres on the island, one of Metro Vancouver’s largest industrial hubs.

The Carlisle Road property is zoned for industrial use and offers access to the region’s highway, port and distribution network.

The landlord and tenant also have an existing business relationship. Doka’s formwork systems are being used on Grosvenor’s Brentwood Block mixed-use development in Burnaby.

The lease gives Grosvenor a long-term tenant at the Carlisle Road property while expanding Doka’s physical presence in the Lower Mainland.
