First National’s Evans Mentors Women in CRE

(Connect has handed out its third-annual Canadian Women in Real Estate Awards. This story profiles Laura Evans of First National.)

Laura Evans brings over 18 years of commercial real estate experience to her job as Director, Commercial Financing with First National. Evans, who joined the company in 2009, serves as the primary underwriting contact for the lender’s two largest and most active clients. Additionally, her deep expertise in retail, office, and multi-family real estate, combined with her nuanced understanding of Western Canadian markets, makes her a trusted advisor and strategic partner to clients and colleagues.

Evans is a mentor and advocate for women in commercial real estate, generously sharing her time and insights to support the growth of others and introducing initiatives to empower women within First National’s commercial team. Her feedback is always honest, constructive, and grounded in a genuine desire to see others succeed. She leads with empathy and strength, earning the respect and admiration of everyone around her.

These are just some of the reasons why Connect Canada CRE honoured Laura Evans with a 2025 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award. The awards celebrate the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
