Hines Leases 38K-SF at Toronto’s West House MF Project to Equinox

Hines has leased a 38,000-square-foot space at its West House multi-family rental development project in Toronto to fitness-club operator Equinox.

West House, located at 88 Bathurst Street, is expected to open its doors in the coming months.

“Our commitment lies in developing residences that elevate the living experience while fostering a vibrant sense of community,” said Syl Apps, a Hines managing director who heads the U.S.-based firm’s Canadian business. “With Equinox recognized globally as a leader in fitness and lifestyle enhancement, their partnership brings an unmatched amenity to our residents.”

New York-based Equinox operates about 100 fitness clubs across North America and in London. The company currently has two Toronto locations.

“The opening of a third Equinox club in Toronto highlights the strong demand for high-performance luxury experiences within our Canadian community,” says Jeff Weinhaus, chief development officer at Equinox.

West House was designed by Danish architectural firm 3XN and includes 307 luxury one-, two- and three-bedroom units, including penthouse suites.

In addition to the Equinox club, other amenities will include outdoor exercise areas; a high-resolution sports simulator; a co-working space complete with meeting rooms and focus zones; a chic lounge; 24/7 lifestyle services, including pet concierge, private chefs, fitness training, wellness coaching, home and car cleaning and an interior design partnership with CB2; and much more.

The property will also contain EV charging stations, reserved bike storage and energy-efficient windows. An additional 38,000 sf will also be available for retail and other commercial uses.
