Jollibee Plans 16 New British Columbia Restaurants

Jollibee has signed its first multi-unit franchise agreement in British Columbia, setting the stage for 16 new restaurants across the province over the next five years.

The agreement gives the Filipino quick-service restaurant chain a real estate pipeline in a market where it lists four locations. Jollibee operates in downtown Vancouver, at 833 Granville St.; near Vancouver City Hall, at 2547 Cambie St.; in Surrey’s Strawberry Hill Shopping Centre, at 12047 72nd Ave.; and in Richmond, at 9100 Blundell Rd.

Specific municipalities, opening dates, store formats and sites for the 16-unit rollout were not disclosed. The program will require the franchisee and Jollibee to assemble a mix of high-traffic retail locations, complete lease negotiations and municipal approvals, and carry out restaurant construction. Jollibee’s franchising process identifies site selection, build-out and opening preparation as the final development stage.

The British Columbia deal follows a separate agreement covering 10 new restaurants in the Edmonton market. Together, the two franchise commitments represent 26 Canadian locations and signal a shift toward franchise-led, multi-unit growth.

Jollibee lists 28 open and coming-soon restaurants across five provinces: 12 in Ontario, eight in Alberta, four in British Columbia, three in Manitoba and one in Saskatchewan. If all committed units open and the existing count remains unchanged, the two agreements would expand the chain’s Canadian network to 54 restaurants.

That makes Jollibee among Canada’s more aggressive quick-service expanders relative to its footprint, nearly doubling its network while concentrating significant demand for drive-thru and restaurant-ready real estate in British Columbia.
