Kottick Takes Helm of RE/MAX Canada After Leaving Sotheby’s
Don Kottick has been appointed president and CEO of REMAX Canada after recently resigning from the same positions with Sotheby’s International Realty Canada.
He will begin his new duties with RE/MAX on Monday.
With more than 30 years of experience in the Canadian real estate industry, Kottick brings deep expertise in corporate and franchise development, brokerage management, and technology to RE/MAX.
“His experience, strategic vision and proven success in growing major real estate brands will be invaluable as we continue to lead the way in Canadian market share,” said RE/MAX Holdings CEO Erik Carlson.
Based in Toronto, Kottick will lead the company’s Canadian operations, providing strategic direction and support to affiliates while collaborating with leaders in the independent REMAX Quebec region to drive national growth.
“I look forward to working alongside the talented REMAX affiliates across the country to capitalize on what the brand is doing to modernize and forge ahead so that buyers, sellers and consumers continue to think of REMAX first,” said Kottick.
Before joining RE/MAX and Sotheby’s, he held senior executive positions with such companies as Peerage, Right at Home and Royal LePage. He has also served on the boards of such industry groups as the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC), the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB.)
Kottick will begin his new duties with RE/MAX on Monday.
He succeeds Christopher Alexander who concluded his tenure in early March but is remaining as a consultative capacity until June 30. He will remain involved with the RE/MAX brand as a brokerage owner in Ontario and as a consultant to the MAX Europe region.
Carlson has been overseeing the firm’s Canadian operations in an interim capacity until Kottick was appointed.
