LG Electronics Canada has leased 984,176 square feet at King Jane Business Park in King City, Ont. At nearly one million square feet, the deal ranks among the GTA’s largest recent industrial leases.

The electronics company will occupy Buildings B and C at the 1.7-million-square-foot development at 2955 King Rd., near Jane Street and about one kilometre from the Highway 400 interchange.

Nicola Real Estate, which is developing the business park with institutional partners, said the transaction is the largest lease in the company’s history by square footage.

The two buildings, comprising 419,861 and 560,895 square feet, are slated for completion in 2027. They will serve as a distribution and supply-chain hub supporting LG’s operations across Canada.

The transaction will expand LG’s GTA industrial footprint by more than 280,000 square feet. The announcement did not identify the facility or facilities being replaced.

“Securing a commitment from a global brand like LG Electronics Canada is a significant milestone for this project and for the region,” said Ron Bastin, managing director of Nicola Real Estate.

“The scale of this lease speaks to continued demand for modern, well-located industrial space and validates the vision behind King Jane Business Park.”

King Jane Business Park is planned as five industrial buildings featuring 40-foot clear heights, rooftop solar panels, heavy-power capacity and modern loading facilities.

The completed 418,402-square-foot Building A has achieved Zero Carbon Building-Design certification from the Canada Green Building Council and remains available for lease. The development’s other four buildings are expected to receive the same certification.
