New Canac Hardware Store Set to Open in Laval
Hardware retailer Canac is getting ready open a new -square-foot store in the Montreal suburb of Laval, Que., according to multiple reports.
The new store is located at the corner of Boulevard du Curé-Labelle and Boulevard Saint-Elzéar Ouest. The outlet is slated to open Feb. 6.
According to Narcity, the store marks Canac’s largest single investment, with construction expenses alone totalling $35 million.
As Connect reported, Canac bought a development-land parcel, on which the store is now situated, in 2024 from a consortium formed by Blackstone and Pure Industrial $24.3 million.
According to the reports, the site comprises 450,000 square feet, and the store will include a 50,000-sf main building, with 30,000 sf dedicated to retail space. The store will also contain a 12,000-sf indoor and outdoor garden centre, a large outdoor lumber yard, a 41,500-sf covered warehouse and 250 parking spaces, along with several EV-charging stations.
Narcity reported that Canac also plans to open a location in Magog, Que., this year as well as a new store in Anjou, Que., in 2027.
