Oakville Approves Four Towers And 1,191 Units Near Bronte GO

Oakville council has approved four mixed-use towers and 1,191 homes beside Bronte GO Station, clearing the way for Northbridge Capital to redevelop an industrial property into a transit-oriented community.

The development at 2172 Wyecroft Rd., on the south side of Wyecroft Road west of Third Line, will place two towers on each of two six-storey podiums. The buildings will range from 21 to 24 storeys and include underground parking.

Council approved the required zoning amendment Aug. 10, replacing the site’s industrial zoning with site-specific urban core mixed-use permissions.

The plan also includes about 2,550 square metres of retail and commercial space, with shops and services at street level, a 1,355-square-metre daycare and two new public roads. Its overall density is 4.78 times the lot area.

The latest design is a substantial reduction from an earlier version presented in 2025, which proposed 1,616 units in towers ranging from 25 to 35 storeys. Those heights exceeded the 24-storey maximum permitted for the area under Oakville’s official plan.

The approved zoning requires at least 45% of the homes to have two or three bedrooms, supporting the town’s goal of accommodating a broader range of households. The current unit mix includes 619 one-bedroom, 445 two-bedroom and 127 three-bedroom homes.

Before construction can proceed, Northbridge must satisfy holding provisions covering noise, air quality, wind, servicing, environmental conditions and intersection design. The proposal also calls for public-realm improvements and a widened Wyecroft Road right-of-way next to the Lakeshore West rail corridor.
