OREA CEO Hudak Steps Down
Ontario Real Estate Association CEO Tim Hudak announced his resignation Wednesday.
Hudak will leave his post on August 2. OREA has not indicated whether it will appoint an interim CEO or a permanent replacement. The outgoing CEO said he notified OREA earlier this year of his intention to leave the organization this summer.
He did not provide details on any future career moves.
“I look forward to spending August with my family and tackling new adventures in the fall,” he said in a statement posted on OREA’s website.
Hudak has helmed OREA for seven years, serving as an outspoken advocate. During his tenure, he said, OREA has become Ontario’s leading champion for homeowners and prospective homebuyers. He said the group’s advocacy efforts also helped convince government to pass legislation that enables affordable housing projects to be completed faster.
In one of his latest advocacy moves, he called for the federal government to permit 30-year mortgages for all homebuyers.
