Redeveloped Kingston Hotel Opens Under Marriott Banner
The redeveloped Kingston Hotel has opened under a new brand.
Easton’s Group of Hotels, the Gupta Group, in partnership with the Remington Group, the Rudolph Bratty family, and Marriott Hotels held the grand opening of the Kingston Marriott this week.
The hotel is located at 285 King Street East on what the proponents call “a revitalized cornerstone of the city’s historic downtown.”
The Marriott is situated steps from the waterfront and surrounded by Kingston’s reknown restaurants, shops, and attractions. The structure contains 172 “well-appointed guestrooms” and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space—the largest available downtown, according to a news release.
Located in the heart of Kingston, the hotel is including Kingston City Hall, Springer Market Square, and the historic storefronts of Princess Street. It occupies the site of the original Royce Inn Hotel, established in 1791.
“We are so excited to welcome guests to the Kingston Marriott officially,” said Steve Gupta, founder and executive chairman of the Gupta Group. “With its prime location and beautiful history within the Kingston community, we are overjoyed to join Marriott Hotels and become part of the brand’s living legacy of putting people first. We look forward to welcoming new and returning guests with our heartfelt hospitality and exceptional service.”
The Kingston Marriott’s guestrooms offer a mix of modern design and local heritage. Rooms are outfitted with technology-enabled workspaces, open layouts, and accessible storage solutions. The interiors reflect Kingston’s identity as the “Limestone City,” incorporating locally inspired limestone textures and tranquil blue tones reminiscent of the waterfront. Contemporary Indigenous patterns and artwork add cultural depth and authenticity to the décor, according to the news release.
The venue also contains the Academy Food and Drink, open-concept restaurant in the lobby an M Club executive lounge open to Marriott Bonvoy Members with Elite status.
