RH Takes Former Club Monaco Flagship On Toronto’s Bloor Street

RH has leased the former Club Monaco flagship at 157 Bloor St. W., adding another major retailer to Toronto’s evolving Bloor Street luxury corridor.

CBRE’s Urban Retail Team has confirmed it leased the space to RH, formerly known as Restoration Hardware. The heritage Lillian Massey Building at the southwest corner of Bloor Street and Avenue Road includes 7,673 SF at street level, 2,664 SF on the lower ground floor and 6,808 SF of storage space, according to CBRE marketing material.

RH has not publicly announced the store or disclosed an opening date. The company did not respond to Connect’s request for additional details.

The location gives RH a presence on Bloor while retaining a considerably smaller footprint than its approximately 70K-SF RH Toronto Gallery at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. It was not immediately clear whether the Bloor store will affect the Yorkdale location.

Club Monaco occupied the prominent corner for more than two decades before closing in 2021. Brooks Brothers later operated in the space, which has also housed temporary retail uses.

The lease comes amid significant movement along Bloor Street. Harry Rosen is relocating its flagship from 82 Bloor St. W. to 153 Cumberland St., while other luxury retailers continue to invest in the corridor.

The 157 Bloor property is owned by Victoria University, part of the University of Toronto.
