By Amy Wolff Sorter

Brandon Schwartz is a senior vice-president with Slate Asset Management. He assists the company with corporate development, strategic initiatives, and investments. Since joining in 2016, Schwartz has held different roles in the company.

During his tenure, Schwartz played an important role in the analysis and execution of Slate’s significant transactions, including the company’s US$2.3-billion acquisition of Annaly Capital Management’s commercial mortgage business and a corporate joint venture with JLL Technologies to commercialize its proprietary software, JLL Asset Beacon.

Internally, Schwartz assisted in organizing Slate’s global analysts recruitment program and the company’s inaugural Analysis Training Camp.

In addition to his everyday responsibilities, Schwartz has taken a leading role in mentoring and developing the firm’s young talent, serving as a resource for professional guidance.

Schwartz volunteers with the Slate Service Team, an initiative comprised of regional teams of volunteers in each Slate office dedicated to community service efforts.

These are just a few reasons we chose Brandon Schwartz as one of Connect CRE Canada’s 2025 Next Generation Award winners. Connect CRE’s annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
