Silk & Snow Opens First Western Canadian Location in Edmonton

Silk & Snow has expanded into Western Canada with the opening of a new store in Edmonton.

The store is located at South Edmonton Common, one of Canada’s largest retail power centres. The 1,900-square-foot store marks a significant milestone in the chain’s national growth, said the company.

Silk & Snow sells mattresses, bedding, furniture, sleep accessories, and bath essentials. The company initially operated exclusively as an online retailer.

“Our customers are at the heart of our business, and we continue to see an increased demand for in-person experiences,” says Albert Chow, co-founder and CEO of Toronto-based Silk & Snow. “This new location allows us to bring our brand to life for the first time in Western Canada, and meaningfully connect with more of our community.”

Since its founding in 2017 through a successful Kickstarter campaign, Silk & Snow has strived to grow rapidly by focusing on three guiding principles: Better materials, thoughtful manufacturing, and transparency. Its expansion into brick-and-mortar locations highlights the growing demand for high-quality, consciously made products, said the company.

The Edmonton storefront and a new outlet in the Montreal suburb of Laval, Que., give Silk & Snow four brick-and-mortar locations. The Laval store is a partnership with Dormez-Vous. Both Silk & Snow and Dormez-Vous fall under Sleep Country Canada’s ownership umbrella.

The Edmonton store is the second collaboration between Silk & Snow and Hong Kong-based architecture firm Benoy. The design merges Japandi and mid-century modern styles, with natural-inspired accents, muted neutrals, and earthy tones reflecting Silk & Snow’s signature aesthetic.
