Starlight Completes First Phase of The Parklands BTR Project in U.K.

Starlight Investments has completed the first phase of The Parklands build-to-rent project in southeastern England.

The opening phase of the project in Dartford, Kent delivered the first 58 rental homes across two residential buildings as part of a 231-suite master-planned development. The project marks the latest expansion of the Toronto-based firm’s U.K. residential platform, which has about 4,000 units altogether and approximately £1.1 billion in assets under management.

“The completion of the first phase at The Parklands reflects our continued commitment to delivering high-quality rental housing in communities where demand continues to grow,” said Jonnie Milich, the head of Starlight’s U.K. residential business. “The Parklands is an important addition to Dartford’s housing landscape, bringing new rental homes to market as part of a thoughtfully designed community that will continue to evolve as future phases are completed.

“We are pleased to welcome our first residents and look forward to continuing to bring this community to life.”

When fully completed, The Parklands will span seven residential buildings, offering studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Planned amenities include a residents’ lounge, fitness centre, yoga studio, co-working space, a 2,000-square-foot rooftop terrace and 163 parking spaces. The development is located near Dartford Station and adjacent to Central Park, providing access to Central London and major employment centres.
