Toyota to Invest $300M in Three New Canadian Facilities

Toyota will invest approximately $300 million over the next three years to build a new head office and two parts-distribution centres across Canada.

The Japanese automaker has announced plans to construct a 225,000-square-foot head office in Toronto, consolidating divisions including sales, marketing, distribution, service and training under one roof. Toyota Credit Canada, currently based in Markham, Ont., will relocate to the new facility.

In Western Canada, Toyota will develop two new parts distribution centres in Surrey, B.C., replacing its existing Richmond, B.C., facility, and Calgary. The Surrey centre, located in South Campbell Heights, will span 210,000 square feet on 8.1 acres and is scheduled to begin operations in December 2028. The Calgary facility will comprise 220,000 square feet on a 13.5-acre site near the airport and major highways, serving Alberta, Saskatchewan and parts of British Columbia.

Together, the new distribution centres will provide more than triple the company’s current space in Western Canada and are expected to reduce delivery times for dealerships and customers.

“This investment is part of Toyota’s ongoing commitment to Canada, creating spaces and operations that improve how we support our dealers and customers, encourage collaboration and enable continued growth across our business,” said Cyril Dimitris, president and CEO of Toyota Canada.

All three facilities are being designed to meet Canadian Green Building Council LEED v4 Gold and Net Zero Carbon Building – Design standards, as well as the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification Gold rating, aligning with Toyota’s global environmental and accessibility goals.
