Trudel Aims to Develop $300M Mixed-Use Project in Quebec City
Trudel is preparing to develop a $300-million mixed use project in Quebec City.
The project is beginning the city’s public-consultation stage, the Journal de Québec reported.
Trudel is ready to begin work on the project this fall, but the development company will likely have to wait until 2025 before the regulatory process is complete, according to the Journal.
Plans call for five buildings that will include a hotel, multi-family units, a grocery store and other business uses, the report states. The development site stretches from Caron Street to Dorchester Street in the Saint-Roch district.
The property is currently a large surface parking lot.
Area residents have strong demand for a supermarket and a deal with a grocery-store operator will be signed quickly once the development application is approved, David Chabot, a Trudel director, told the Journal.
The project is slated to include 390 residential units with 15% designated as affordable housing and 10% as adaptable, according to the report.
Delivery is expected in 2027.
