Skyline, Solmar Break Ground on 1,290 Apartment Project in Brampton

Skyline and Solmar have broken ground on the Rose Towers, a new purpose-built rental community in Brampton, Ont., that will add 1,290 rental suites to the Toronto suburb’s housing supply.

Located at 241 Queen Street East, the Rose Towers development will include four high-rise apartment buildings ranging from 26 to 30 storeys, with ground-floor retail space and second-floor resident amenities in each building.

The project site is situated along Brampton’s Queen Street Corridor, one of Ontario’s designated Urban Growth Centres, the development is positioned less than two kilometres from Highway 410 and is intended to provide access to transit, retail, dining and recreational amenities.

The project will feature open-concept rental suites with indoor and outdoor amenity spaces including fitness centres, lounges, barbeque areas, pet wash stations and three levels of underground parking.

During a recent groundbreaking ceremony, Skyline Co-Founder and CEO Jason Castellan said the project highlights the company’s confidence in Brampton’s future and commitment to provide new rental supply in communities where it is needed most.

Skyline said the development forms part of its broader expansion strategy across Ontario, where it has completed more than 600 apartment units, has 1,350 suites currently under construction and more than 3,000 additional units planned across five communities.

Skyline is a capital-management company focused on acquiring, developing and managing real estate properties and renewable infrastructure assets. The company manages more than $10 billion in assets across its real estate and renewable infrastructure platforms and employs approximately 1,000 people across Canada.
