Construction has begun on a new 67,000-square-foot industrial facility in Moncton, N.B.

The project site is located at 80 Frenette Ave. in Moncton’s Caledonia Industrial Park.

Lindsay Construction and Comztar Commercial Properties have broken ground on the energy-efficient project, which is scheduled for completion in early 2027.

“This project reflects our continued commitment to providing costumer focused, efficient, and flexible industrial space solutions for businesses across New Brunswick,” said Cathy Sweet, Comztar’s president, in a LinkedIn post. “Situated on 12 acres, the building has been designed to accommodate a single tenant or multiple tenants, offering flexibility for warehousing, distribution, logistics, and industrial operations.”

The fully sprinklered building will feature 31-foot exterior walls, a 26-foot interior clearance and rear loading docks equipped with electric dock levelers to support industrial, warehousing and distribution operations, according to ConstructConnect.

The building is designed to exceed the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2020 by 29%, surpassing Tier 2 requirements. The project is located near several major distribution centres, including those operated by Walmart, Loblaws and Irving, Construct Connect reported.
