Shindico Begins Preleasing Winnipeg’s Future Peguis Promenade Retail Centre
Shindico has begun preleasing the retail component of its Peguis Promenade mixed-use development in East Winnipeg., with the project scheduled to welcome tenants in spring 2027.
The company said the first two tenants have been secured, with Pür & Simple and Arby’s slated to open at the project in 2027.
Peguis Promenade is planned as a mixed-use development combining retail, service and residential uses. The project will include more than 500 purpose-built rental apartments, creating an on-site customer base for businesses operating within the development.
Retail space ranging from 1,435 to 30,000 square feet is being offered. The development is designed to accommodate a variety of commercial uses and will feature drive-thru opportunities and pylon signage aimed at increasing tenant visibility.
The project is located in East Winnipeg’s major retail corridor, adjacent to Kildonan Place Shopping Centre, Costco and Canadian Tire. Shindico said the surrounding area has experienced population and household growth over the past five years and is expected to see thousands of additional homes built in the coming years.
The development will also benefit from infrastructure upgrades, including the extension and widening of Reenders Drive and Peguis Street. The site is served by 10 nearby transit routes and is close to major employment centres, including the Canada Revenue Agency’s Taxation Centre and the St. Boniface Industrial Park.
Shindico brokers Michael Stronger and Dino Alevizos are co-ordinating the firm’s leasing effort.
Tenant occupancy is scheduled to begin in spring 2027.
