Flying Tiger Copenhagen Expanding into Canada with Toronto Store Opening

Flying Tiger Copenhagen will enter the Canadian market with the opening of its first store at CF Toronto Eaton Centre at the end of June.

The opening will mark the Danish variety retailer’s start of a broader expansion across the Americas, the company said.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen plans to focus initially on the Greater Toronto Area, with additional stores slated to open at Vaughan Mills, Scarborough Town Centre, Square One and Markville throughout the summer and the second half of 2026.

Canada becomes the 45th market for Flying Tiger Copenhagen, which said it selected the GTA as its launch market because of its size, retail environment and importance within Canada’s retail sector.

“We see strong alignment with Canadian consumers who appreciate design-led products at accessible prices,” said Jens Aarup Mikkelsen, the company’s CEO. “Our stores are built to surprise and inspire, and we look forward to becoming a vibrant part of the Canadian retail landscape.”

Flying Tiger Copenhagen is partnering with Fox Group to support its Canadian operations and said it sees significant long-term growth potential in the country.

Founded in Copenhagen in 1995, Flying Tiger Copenhagen has grown to more than 1,000 stores in 45 markets. The retailer is known for its design-focused assortment of affordable products, including home décor, kitchenware, stationery and toys. The company has received several international design awards, including recognition from Red Dot, iF Design Award, International Design Awards and Good Design Award.
