TD Asset Management, iCapital Launch new Canadian Investment Vehicle Linked to Global Real Estate Strategy
TD Asset Management (TDAM) and iCapital Canada have launched a Canadian investment vehicle that will give eligible accredited investors access to a global real estate strategy managed by TD Asset Management.
The launch marks the second investment strategy introduced in Canada through iCapital Canada’s platform featuring TDAM private-market strategies, following the rollout of a global infrastructure strategy in 2025. The new offering is intended to broaden access to global real estate investments for Canadian wealth managers, advisors and accredited investors.
The firms said the investment vehicle combines TDAM’s global real estate expertise with iCapital Canada’s technology platform, which provides operational, administrative and educational support for private-market investments.
“Today’s investors are increasingly seeking resilient, income-oriented real asset strategies that can perform across market cycles,” Andrew Croll, TDAM’s managing director and head of global real estate investments. “With nearly 40 years of experience managing real estate, we have built a high-quality portfolio of physical assets across Canada and key global markets, designed to deliver durable income and diversification. The launch of this global real estate investment vehicle marks an important step in expanding access to our institutional real estate platform for accredited Canadian investors.”
Thomas Johnston, an iCapital managing director and head of client solutions for Canada, said the launch of new investment vehicle builds on the momentum of the firms’ prior collaboration and underscores their shared focus on expanding access to private-market strategies for Canadian accredited investors.
“Through iCapital’s technology and local expertise, we are focused on supporting wealth managers and advisors as they allocate across global real assets.”
Toronto-based iCapital Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of New York-based iCapital, a global financial technology company that provides access to private-market investments. The company supports wealth managers and advisors with technology, administration and educational services, and offers investment fund management, portfolio management and exempt market-dealer services in Canada.
Toronto-headquartered TDAM is a Canadian investment management firm and a member of TD Bank Group. The company manages $532 billion in assets and offers investment strategies across equities, fixed income and alternative assets, including private credit, infrastructure and real estate, for institutional and retail investors in Canada and internationally.
