7-Eleven to Open Three Licensed Lounges in Calgary

7-Eleven Canada has announced plans to open three new licensed lounges in Calgary later this summer.

Marc Goodman, general manager for 7-Eleven Canada, announced the plan in a news release, according to multiple reports.

The lounges will be located at at 200 1035 New Brighton Drive S.E., 7102 Elbow Drive S.W. and 220 2505 Eversyde Avenue S.W. Customers will be able to drink beer, wine and coolers at the locations and also purchases the alcoholic beverages.

A lounge in the city’s Douglasdale area opened in December 2023 as part of a pilot project.

The convenience-store chain has also opened a licensed lounge in the Calgary bedroom community of Cochrane, Alta. The Cochrane lounge is located at a 7-Eleven store site at 19 West Side Drive.

The company has also opened a new licensed lounge in northeast Edmonton. It is the seventh 7-Eleven drinking establishment in the Alberta capital, according to the Edmonton Journal.

A 7-Eleven licensed lounge also opened recently in Red Deer, Alta.

New licensed lounges are also coming to 7-Eleven locations in Claresholm, Alta., located south of Calgary, and the Central Alberta town of Rocky Mountain House, the Western Producer reported.
