The Abbatiello Group has acquired Quebec-based bar and restaurant chain Shaker Cuisine & Mixologie, adding 21 locations to its growing eateries portfolio.

Founded in 2015 by restaurateurs from Quebec City, the Shaker chain had attracted interest from other prospective buyers; however, Abbatiello ultimately prevailed in acquiring the chain.

“Our greatest pride in all of this is that we were the only Quebec group at the negotiating table against the other groups,” Elisabeth Abbatiello, one of five siblings who own and operate the company bearing their family name, said in a LInkedIn post.

The acquisition came after Shaker shareholders, including Co-founder Luc Beaumont, had been exploring options in recent months to support the chain’s continued growth,, Le Journal do Quebec reported. Abbatiello intends to maintain the brand’s existing identity and environment.

“For more than 10 years, Shaker has stood out with a quality menu at accessible prices, while focusing on a welcoming atmosphere,” said Elisabeth Abbatiello in her LinkedIn post. “Our intention is clear: To preserve what makes the brand strong while giving it the means to continue its growth. The same recipes, the same ingredients, the same atmosphere; in more regions across Quebec.

The previous ownership group had already planned three new restaurant openings, and Abbatiello hopes to continue expanding the Shaker banner across Quebec if conditions permit, according to Le Journal.

The acquisition marks the first restaurant-bar style chain added to the Abbatiello family’s holdings, which include Pizza Salvatoré, Topla!, Jack le Coq, Crèmerie Chez Mamie and L’Oeufrier.

“My three brothers, my sister and I grew up in the day-to-day operations of restaurants,” Elisabeth Abbatiello told Le Journal. “It’s still a restaurant business; the important thing is how you serve your customers.”

The Abbatiello Group now operates 250 restaurants across six banners in Quebec and the rest of Canada. The Shaker acquisition comes after Abbatiello purchased the 47-restaurant breakfast chain L’Oeufrier in September 2025.
