Abbatiello Acquires 47 L’Oeufrier Restaurants Across Quebec

The Abbatiello Group has acquired 47 L’Oeufrier restaurants across Quebec from La Büff Group for an undisclosed price.

Abbatiello bought the entire rapidly growing Laval, Que.-based chain, which has operated since 1995 and doubled its unit count in the past five years. The buyer said the purchase is part of its accelerated growth strategy.

The Abbatiello Group is owned by the family of the same name, with the third generation’s five siblings now running the restaurant-holdings company.

“L’Oeufrier has stood out in the breakfast category with its unconventional, humour-filled marketing and constant nods to current events, said Elisabeth Abbatiello, a company partner who serves as vice-president of communications and outreach. “For our family, acquiring L’Oeufrier is about much more than buying restaurants — it’s about welcoming a culture, a bold tone, and a brand personality we admire.

“My brothers, sister and I, along with the entire team, are excited to write the next chapter of this story alongside the franchisees.”

According to Le Devoir, L’Oeufrier has about 60 franchise applications in progress.

“It became an opportunity for us to hand over our franchisees to a winning team,” Pedro Medina, La Büff’s president and CEO told Le Devoir.

Abbatiello’s holdings include Pizza Salvatoré, Jack Le Coq, Topla!, and Crèmerie Chez Mamie.
