Adidas to Lease Former Victoria’s Secret Location

Adidas will lease a former Victoria’s Secret store in an iconic retail district in downtown Vancouver.

“I can confirm this,” Martin Moriarty, a Marcus and Millichap senior vice-president, told Postmedia.

The 35,000-square-foot space is located at the corner of Robson and Burrard streets in the heritage-designated Robson Central building. The prime location is on a western stretch of Robson Street featuring global name-brand retail outlets that attract international shoppers.

Moriarty told Postmedia that he and Marcus and Millichap colleague Mario Negris negotiated the lease on behalf of Adidas, and the German running show maker will soon release further details on how it plans to operate the store.

Adidas deploys different store concepts across Canada. According to Postmedia, the Vancouver store will be company’s largest Canadian location.

U.S.-based Victoria’s Secret quietly vacated its two-storey Vancouver flagship store last weekend. The women’s specialty fashion retailer will relocate to a smaller location in Pacific Centre, Cadillac Fairview, the mall’s owner, has confirmed.
