(Allison Marsales is one of the winners of the 2024 Canadian Women in Real Estate Awards, presented by Connect Canada CRE. To read about all of the winners, go to our CWIRE Awards section.)

In October 2023, Allison Marsales made history as she became the first woman to head a national brokerage operation in Canada.

Marsales assumed the role of Cushman & Wakefield’s president of advisory for the country, responsible for driving the firm’s advisory business strategy and managing priorities across Canada.

Marsales has more than two decades of commercial real estate brokerage, landlord, and leadership experience to her new position. Prior to being promoted to her current position, she led Cushman & Wakefield’s Toronto central office as managing principal after joining the firm in 2018 from Dream Office REIT.

At Dream, she oversaw 2.8 million square feet of office space, including Scotia Plaza and Adelaide Place, where her strategic leadership contributed to a successful rebrand and lease-up initiative that attracted major Fortune 500 technology clients.

According to Victoria Malkin, Cushman’s central region president, she has an extensive understanding of the commercial real estate market and broader business-community landscape as well as the company’s own operations and priorities.

In addition, Marsales regularly celebrates the power of women in business and helps female commercial real estate professionals advance in their careers while also calling for the industry to strive for greater gender equity and more diversity every day.

These are just some of the reasons why Marsales has received a Canadian Women in Real Estate Award.
