ASDR Canada Acquires Acadian Dredging to Undertake Larger-Scale Port Projects
ASDR Canada has acquired Acadian Dredging, positioning the combined company to undertake larger-scale port and industrial projects.
Based in Cocagne, N.B., Acadian Dredging has more than 40 years of experience in marine (port and coastal) and industrial dredging projects across the Maritime provinces. The acquisition aligns with ASDR’s ongoing growth strategy, the company said.
By integrating Acadian Dredging’s assets and expertise, ASDR significantly expands its operational capacity and logistical flexibility. The combined group now operates one of the largest dredging fleets in Eastern Canada.
The integration enhances ASDR’s hydraulic and mechanical dredging capabilities, improves equipment mobilization across Atlantic Canada and shortens execution timelines in complex marine environments, the company said. The addition of a team with more than four decades of field experience is expected to deepen the company’s technical and operational expertise, ADSR added.
“It expands our operational reach in Eastern Canada and reaffirms our commitment to investing in strategic assets that enable us to deliver high-performance solutions tailored to market realities,” said Stephen Authier, president and general manager of ASDR.
Founded in 2006, ASDR is a diversified, vertically integrated engineering company, providing turnkey solutions across the mining, industrial and environmental sectors. The company operates centres of excellence in dredging and dewatering, water treatment, project management and engineering, and manufacturing.
As it marks its 20th anniversary, Marlartic, Que.-based ASDR employs approximately 350 people and operates seven offices and four manufacturing facilities in Canada and internationally.
