ATCO to Relocate Edmonton Office to Former CWB Building

ATCO subsidiary Canadian Utilities Limited will relocate its downtown Edmonton office to the former Canadian Western Bank building, which will be renamed ATCO Place.

The company said the move reflects its continued commitment to Edmonton’s downtown core and to supporting the evolving needs of its employees. ATCO will transition employees currently based at ATCO Centre Edmonton to the building at 10303 Jasper Avenue beginning in 2028.

“Our decision to relocate to an updated office space demonstrates ATCO’s desire to continue to be an anchor tenant in Edmonton’s downtown core and maintain connection with other major businesses in Edmonton,” said Jason Sharpe, chief operating officer for ATCO Energy Systems. “We are pleased to update our space and provide employees with amenities that make their commute and experience in the office exceptional.”

ATCO said the relocation represents an intentional investment in Edmonton’s downtown and business community, aligning with its broader focus on vibrant and safe communities. The newly renovated office space will be branded ATCO Place and is intended to reflect the company’s vision as a modern, customer-focused organization with strong Albertan roots.

“We are excited to welcome ATCO as the anchor tenant,” said Brodie Cain, director of leasing for Redstone Group, the building’s owner. “The renovations completed to date align well with ATCO’s operational and safety needs, and once finished, the building will offer best-in-class amenities that support their people and workplace culture.”

He praised ATCO and CBRE, the brokerage firm that represented it, for their professional approach during the preleasing process.

“The fact they’re committing long-term here and putting their stamp on downtown is just good news for everybody involved,” Jeremy Deeks, a CBRE vice-president who helped broker the deal for ATCO, told Postmedia.

Colliers represented Surrey, B.C.-based Redstone in the transaction.
