AutoCanada Acquires Collision Repair Shop in Edmonton

AutoCanada has acquired a collision-repair and refinish shop in Edmonton for an undisclosed price.

The Edmonton-based company said the purchase of Doug’s Place Strathcona complements its “collision presence” in the Alberta capital by expanding capacity and expanding original-equipment manufacturer and insurance-partner coverage in the market. With four AutoCanada dealerships situated nearby, the new facility is poised to capture incremental repair-business volume and strengthen service coverage across the region, said the company.

The facility is certified across several leading OEMs. It will be rebranded as AXC Doug’s Place.

AutoCanada operates 64 franchised automotive dealerships that comprise 23 brands in eight provinces. The company also operates three used-car dealerships and 15 standalone collision-repair centres across the country.
