AutoCanada has completed the acquisition of the Contemporary Coachworks two-location collision-repair business in Calgary, expanding its collision-repair platform and establishing its first luxury collision-repair presence in the city.

The acquisition adds approximately 30,000 square feet of collision-repair capacity through facilities in north and south Calgary and brings certifications across 15 original-equipment-manufacturer (OEM) brands, including Tesla, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Volvo, Acura and Volkswagen, said AutoCanada.

“Contemporary Coachworks is an excellent addition to our growing collision platform,” said Samuel Cochrane, CEO and interim CFO of AutoCanada. “The business has built a strong reputation for quality repairs, customer service and OEM-certified expertise. This acquisition expands our presence in Calgary, strengthens our luxury collision capabilities, and creates opportunities to enhance our collision operations through shared best practices and our OEM and insurance relationships.”

AutoCanada said the acquisition will also help it retain more collision-repair work within its network during periods of elevated demand, including severe weather and hail events, while increasing repair capacity in the Calgary market.

Edmonton-based AutoCanada is an automotive dealership and collision-repair company that operates 64 franchised dealerships and three independent used-vehicle dealerships across eight provinces, representing 23 vehicle brands. The company also operates 35 collision centres supported by OEM certifications covering 37 vehicle brands.
