Avison Young has promoted Rick Jenkins to CFO after he helped guide the commercial real estate services company through a financial restructuring effort.

Jenkins will lead the overall management and strategies in the areas of finance, accounting, budgeting and reporting, bank relations, risk management joint ventures and tax for Toronto-based Avison Young, which operates globally. As a member of the executive management team, he will help development and execute Avison Young’s long-term growth strategies.

“This past year, Rick has already helped steer the firm through a momentous next chapter, helping finance a comprehensive financial recapitalizatin that reinforces our financial foundation, significantly de-levers our balance sheet and positions us with a sustainable go-forward capital structure,” said Mark Rose, Avison Young’s CEO and board chair.

Jenkins joined Avison Young in 2016 as the firm’s global controller. Prior to joining Avison Young, he spent about six years with JLL as a senior vice-president and finance director for its Americas region.

Jenkins works out of Avison Young’s Chicago office.
