Béton Acquires Plants in Quebec, Maritimes, Upstate New York from CRH
Béton Provincial has acquired several cement and concrete manufacturing plants in Quebec, the Maritimes and Upstate New York from CRH Canada.
The deal includes the Ash Grove cement plant in the Montreal suburb of Joliette, Queix cement terminals, including two cement terminals in the Greater Montreal Area as well as three cement terminals in Newfoundland and Labrador and one in Solvey, N.Y., near Syracuse.
Béton also acquired nine ready-mix concrete plants, with seven in Greater Montreal and two in the Quebec City region. In addition, the company bought two quarries located in the Montreal suburbs of Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur, Que., and Mirabel, Que.
Going forward, Béton’s cement business will operate under the banner of Ciment St-Laurent in French and St. Lawrence Cement in English. The move revives a historically recognized brand in Quebec and Western North America, said Béton.
