Big Star Sandwich Chain to Open New Vancouver Location

Big Star is getting ready to open a new sandwich shop in Vancouver, according to multiple reports.

The Lower Mainland sandwich chain has signs up and a business licence pending for a spot on West Broadway, according to Vancouver is Awesome.

The new location is situated at 802 West Broadway. The premises previously housed Ta-Ke Don, a quick-stop Japanese restaurant specializing in donburi and salads, which closed earlier this year.

The popular sandwich chain launched in New Westminster, B.C., in 2013 and has steadily expanded across the region.

The brand gained international attention in 2017 when actor Liam Neeson stopped by the New Westminster shop after the chain set up a sign saying: “Liam Neeson eats here for free.”

An official opening date for the West Broadway location has not yet been announced.
