Borsook Represents a Diverse Range of CRE Clients

(Connect has handed out its third-annual Canadian Women in Real Estate Awards. This story profiles Lisa Borsook, executive partner of WeirFoulds LLP.

Lisa Borsook is the executive partner of WeirFoulds LLP and served as the firm’s managing partner from 2007 to 2012. She is co-chair of the Commercial Leasing Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Corporate Group and Women Lawyers Group.

Her practice involves representing a diverse range of clients in connection with various types of properties, including infrastructure, retail, industrial, office, and brownfield properties.

Borsook supports diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. As one of the first woman managing partners of a major law firm, she champions these causes in the legal and business markets. She regularly speaks on the topic for the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association and numerous other organizations.

She has been a member of the Equity Advisory Group of the Law Society of Ontario and the Steering Committee for the Law Society’s Retention of Women in Private Practice Working Group in connection with the Justicia Project. Borsook has served as a mentor with various organizations, including the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) and NAIOP, and as an advisory board member for the Young Women in Law organization.

She serves on the boards of the Sunnybrook Foundation and SCG Legal and is a frequent panelist, speaker, and moderator at industry events.

Borsook has been honoured by WXN as one of its Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada and was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame. She received the Laura Legge Award from the Law Society of Upper Canada, the ICRF Women of Action Award, and the Zenith Award. She has also received accolades from the Canadian Civil Liberties Association for Excellence in Law and the Ontario Bar Association.

Best Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert and the Legal 500 have recognized her.

These are just some of the reasons why Connect Canada CRE honoured Lisa Borsook with a 2025 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award. The awards celebrate the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
