Calgary Co-op Breaks Ground on Cochrane Store
Calgary Co-op has broken ground on a new 65,000-square-foot retail development project in Cochrane, Alta.
Thursday’s groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of the co-operative association’s first grocery store in Cochrane, a bedroom community located west of Calgary.
The project is located in the mixed-use community of Greystone, where Calgary Co-op purchased six acres of land.
The Calgary Co-op store site is also slated to include a pharmacy; a wine, spirits, beer, cannabis and convenience store along, a gas station and a touchless carwash.
The development will also house 30,000 sf of additional retail spaces.
βThis development will also bring in a diverse mix of retailers and restaurants who will further enhance this unique shopping centre in the heart of the community,” said Damon Tanzola, Calgary Co-op’s vice-president of real estate and development, in a news release.
Full-fledged construction is schedule to begin this fall and conclude in spring 2025.
