Canada Goose Opens New Concept Store at Vancouver’s Oakridge Park

Canada Goose has officially opened its newest retail location at Oakridge Park in Vancouver.

The location became the first Canadian store to showcase the brand’s new global retail design concept.

Developed in partnership with architecture firm Snohetta, the concept represents a shift from traditional retail toward a more immersive customer experience, said Canada Goose. The concept debuted at new locations in Milan and Paris, the Vancouver store is the first in Canada to adopt the new design.

The Oakridge store incorporates strong West Coast and Canadian influences through its art, architecture and customer experience. A museum-grade collection of works by Inuk and Indigenous artists highlights Northern storytelling traditions. Featured pieces include a large-scale mural inspired by Kenojuak Ashevak and two custom commissions by B.C. artist Sonny Assu, including a heritage wall that reimagines a Snow Mantra Parka as a Northwest Coast Button Blanket.

Architecturally, the space introduces a luxury design palette centred on raw wood and metal finishes. The exterior storefront features a windswept pattern inspired by snow drifts, while the entrance incorporates warm wood geometry. A legacy wall at the rear of the store presents an abstract interpretation of the B.C. Rockies.

The location also includes The Vault, a private VIP area designed for personalized styling appointments. The area reflects a broader trend among luxury retailers toward experience-driven customer engagement in the Vancouver market, said Canada Goose.

Oakridge Park’s new 650,000-square-foot centre is part of the massive redevelopment of the former Oakridge mall. The mixed-use project is a joint-venture between Vancouver-based firms QuadReal Property Group and Westbank.
