Carrington Breaks Ground on St. Boniface Mixed-Use Project

Carrington Real Estate has broken ground a new mixed-use project in the St. Boniface area in Winnipeg.

The project site is located at 159 Provencher Boulevard. Dubbed Promenade Provencher, the future eight-storey building will include 94 rental-apartment units, along with second-floor offices and 5,000 square feet street-level retail units, The Winnipeg Free Press reported.

The project has been in the works for two decades.

Wolfrom Engineering, the project’s designer and Carrington’s design partner, will occupy the office spaces, according to the Free Press. Carrington is also collaborating with is collaborating with Enterprises Riel, an economic development agency that promotes French-language in local business and tourism.

“We’re really glad today that finally we’re breaking ground … It’s just fantastic,” Pascal Toupin-Selinger, Riel’s board president, told the Free Press. “We really hope that this will kick-start the rejuvenation of Provencher [Boulevard] — get more business, more people walking the street.”

Construction is expected to conclude by spring 2027.
