CBRE, Brookfield Bring Property Management Partnership to Canada
CBRE Group and Brookfield Properties are expanding their property management partnership into Canada.
The move is designed to enhance tenant satisfaction and property performance across key markets.
The collaboration, branded Brookfield Properties Operated by CBRE, will deliver property management services—including building operations, property accounting, and procurement—for the majority of Brookfield Properties’ office portfolios in Toronto and Calgary, the companies announced.
The move marks the first international expansion of CBRE’s investor portfolio management service, a property management platform launched in the U.S. to help property owners improve operational consistency, cost efficiency, and portfolio-wide sustainability. The offering also incorporates advanced approaches to data collection, customer experience, lease administration, and building technology.
“This partnership will see CBRE leverage the power of scale to create efficiencies and optimize property performance, staking our claim to industry leadership in complex property management,” said Jon Ramscar, CBRE Canada’s president and CEO. “Our innovative partnership approach will define CBRE’s property management proposition in Canada, set industry standards, and unlock future opportunities for exceptional office property management at the portfolio level.”
CBRE will bring its global expertise, resources, and purchasing power to the partnership, complementing Brookfield Properties’ reputation for providing high-quality tenant services and its extensive experience as a premier building operator.
“The strategic partnership we launched with CBRE in the U.S. in January, designed to maintain our premier tenant experience while generating operational efficiencies and enabling us to focus on asset management and strategy, has been very successful,” said Bobby Swennes, president of Toronto-based Brookfield Properties’ North American office business. “We are confident expanding the partnership to our Canadian office operations will yield similar benefits for our Canadian tenants, our investors, and our overall business goals.”
The partnership will be led by CBRE’s investor portfolio management division, with Craig Hudleston, global COO and head of investor portfolio management, overseeing the initiative. Lisa Bevacqua, senior managing director for investor portfolio management, will serve as the dedicated account lead.
