CBRE IM Woos Veteran Asset Manager Away from Caisse

CBRE Investment Management has hired veteran asset manager Nathalie Viens to head its private infrastructure strategies segment.

Based in Montreal, she will direct and implement the strategies across the company’s portfolio, overseeing value creation, sustainability initiatives, risk management and other key activities, said CBRE IM in a news release. She will also sit on the firm’s direct private infrastructure investment committee.

Viens joined CBRE IM from CDPQ Infrastructure Group in Montreal, where she was an operating partner in the organization’s infrastructure portfolio. CDPQ Infra is owned by Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, one of Canada’s largest institutional investors.

A certified engineer, Viens has also held leadership positions with waste-management firm Veolia Canada, Montreal-based engineering giant SNC-Lavalin and global business-services consultancy Accenture. She holds bachelor and master degrees in chemical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
