CF Plans to Sell Large Kitchener Mall: Report

Cadillac Fairiview has begun efforts to sell its CF Fairview Park mall in Kitchener, Ont., Green Street News reported.

RBC is marketing CF’s 100% interest in the shopping centre, and the 732,000-square foot retail centre is expected to attract bids of around $170 million, according to the report.

The mall has 113 stores and is anchored by Hudson’s Bay and Walmart. A third anchor tenant, now-defunct Sears Canada, vacated its space in 2018, and the premises were divided into several smaller stores with outside entrances.

Other current tenants include Mark’s, Sport Chek and Winners.

Located at 2960 Kingsway Drive, the mall opened in 1966 and has undergone several expansions, Green Street reported. The improvements included a $33.4-million redevelopment in 2007 and a $70-million renovation in 2019 that involved the reconfiguration of the former Sears department store and several freestanding restaurants.
