Chartwell has named Jeffrey Brown as its new CEO.

Chartwell Appoints Brown as New CFO

Jeffrey Brown has been appointed CFO for Chartwell Retirement Residences.

Mississaugua, Ont.-based Chartwell announced that Brown will assume his new duties October 30. Brown joins Chartwell from Toronto-based Porter Airlines, where he has served as executive vice-president and CFO since 2014.

“[Brown’s] accomplishments in team and relationship building, strong business acumen, strategic mindset, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving make him uniquely qualified to be a successful CFO at Chartwell,” said Vlad Volodarski, Chartwell’s CEO, in a news release.

Chartwell ranks as Canada’s largest seniors home operator.

Prior to joining Porter as chief strategy and procurement officer in 2012, he spent eight years as a principal with Toronto-based Edgestone Capital Partners. Chartwell ranks as Canada’s largest seniors housing operator, serving 25,000 residents in four provinces.

Brown will replace Jonathan Boulakia who has been serving as interim CFO after former CFO Sheri Harris left the company in May. Boulakia is Chartwell’s chief investment and legal officer.
