Clark Awarded Contract to Lead $110M CASA Capital Expansion Project
Clark Builders has been awarded the lead contract for the $110-million CASA Mental Health Capital Expansion project.
The project aims to enhance mental-health care for children and youth across Alberta.
CASA Mental Health, a non-profit organization providing comprehensive, culturally safe mental health services for Albertans aged three to 18, is undertaking a major expansion as part of its five-year strategic plan. The project will see the development of four purpose-built facilities in Fort McMurray, Calgary, Medicine Hat, and Edmonton, each spanning more than 30,000 square feet. These centres will support the co-location of CASA House and adolescent day treatment programs, ensuring continuity of care for patients, said Edmonton-based Clark.
The project is backed by the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction and will be further supported by community fundraising. All four facilities will feature trauma-informed design shaped by input from patients, families, and mental-health professionals.
Construction will follow an integrated project delivery (IPD) model, striving to foster collaboration between the owner, designers, and builders.
Clark Builders will partner with Reimagine Architects, SMP Engineering, WSP Canada, Eng-Spire, Canem Systems, Dee-Jay Plumbing & Heating Ltd., and Collins Steel.
The Fort McMurray and Calgary locations are expected to open in fall 2027, with Medicine Hat and Edmonton following in 2029.
The project builds on Clark Builders’ previous work with CASA, including the successful delivery of the CASA Centre in Edmonton in 2016, said the company.
