Coke Canada Bottling Opens New $18M Richmond Plant
Coke Canada Bottling has opened a new $18-million plant in the Vancouver suburb of Richmond, B.C.
Several dignitaries, including Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie and Steveston-Richmond East MP Parm Bains attended a recent official opening ceremony.
According to multiple reports, the 230,000-square-foot distribution centre moves 100,000 cases of Coca-Cola per day.
Located at 8040 Zylmans Way, the bottling plant is the company’s largest in Canada. It supplies of customers across the Lower Mainland and all of Coke’s distribution centres in B.C., according to the Richmond News.
The new plant is part of Toronto-based Coke Canada Bottling’s $42-million investment in Lower Mainland facilities. The company also invested $24-million in a Richmond bottle manufacturing facility.
In its six years of operation, Coke Canada Bottling has invested a total of $230 million, several media outlets reported while citing COO Mark Scholtes.
