Colliers’ Shannon Fosters Culture of Trust, Empowerment, Accountability

Marie Shannon is Senior Vice President, Operations, Brokerage & Valuations for Colliers. Her strategic vision and operational expertise helped reshape the company’s brokerage and valuations operations, while strengthening the organizational structure. Shannon has addressed long-standing challenges such as limited career growth opportunities and outdated processes, implementing creative and sustainable solutions to elevate efficiency and the employee experience.
She is responsible for fostering a culture of trust, empowerment and accountability across a national team of over 175 professionals. Despite the scale of her responsibilities, she takes the time to understand the unique career aspirations of individuals. Shannon has built out a strong leadership team, personally mentoring each member to mirror her own high standards of empathy, integrity and accountability.
Coming from a financial services background, Shannon has seamlessly applied her experiences in strategic planning, risk management, and data analytics to her role at Colliers. A true visionary, she has the ability to uncover the root cause of complex issues and tackle them head-on, driving measurable business improvements across the organization.
Additionally, she served as the Executive Chair of Colliers’ North America Pride Employee Resource Group, demonstrating her commitment to inclusion and belonging.
These are just some of the reasons why Connect Canada CRE honoured Marie Shannon with a 2025 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award. The awards celebrate the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
