Colliers’ Thompson Focuses on Data-driven Research

(Connect has handed out its third-annual Canadian Women in Real Estate Awards. This story profiles Colliers Research Director Susan Thompson.)

Colliers’ Research Director Susan Thompson is an expert analyst and commentator on the commercial real estate market. Her work with local, national and international media has led to recognition within the industry as one of the preeminent sources of information and knowledge for leasing, transaction analysis and market trends.

More recently, she has focused on data-driven storytelling through reports, media work, and client engagement, utilizing technology and analytics to help make better-informed decisions.

She previously worked for Avison Young and Calgary Economic Development.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Thompson is a leading voice on issues such as office conversions, return-to-work policies, and the leasing market. She oversees a team of analysts with outstanding morale and performance, and was recently promoted to a role covering all of Western Canada. Susan’s team members have also gone on to diverse roles within Colliers, including transaction managers and consultants, allowing the company to retain and develop new talent.

These are just some of the reasons why Connect Canada CRE honoured Susan Thompson with a 2025 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award. The awards celebrate the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
